Counting down the hours until midnight here with 9 hours to go.  We are going to our yearly beach side carnival followed by watching fire works from our back deck.  We have D1 and little J staying so planning on a lovely celebration with plenty of snacks and cocktails.

Happy New Year to you all.  Hope 2018 brings good health, happiness, love and plenty of GG spankings followed by MFL. What ever you do enjoy and stay safe if travelling. Thank you all for another  wonderful year of friendship and support.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas everyone.  We hope no matter how you are celebrating, you have a wonderful day, with good food and lots of laughter.

Also  a GG and some MFL thrown in.

Did Santa leave anything under your tree like a new implement?

If you are travelling to spend time with family or friends stay safe on the roads.

Whilst all of you in the northern hemisphere are trying to stay warm and perhaps having a white Christmas, in the southern hemisphere we are trying to stay cool and having fun at the beach.

Merry Christmas

Sookie la la

A lot of you asked me what a sookie la la was, its obviously an Aussie saying as Don seems to know.

Well let me give you a scenario.  Today I was supposed to be going to my mermaids Christmas party.  We all had to take a plate, so I decided to try making a gluten free version of a Nutella Christmas tree.  Bear and I both researched gf pastry then to my surprise I found some in the supermarket.  I thought this will make life easier.

Well how wrong could I be!  I thawed the pastry out as instructed and rolled it  like my gf support group suggested.  Stupid pastry split, so I grabbed another sheet.  No matter how much I tried I couldn't roll it out enough to cut a tree shape out of it.  Defeated I decided to make stars instead. I think I've told you before how my mum used to burn stuff, well I take after her.  Lovely burnt stars.

So I cracked the sads!  Became a sookie la la and threw a pity party. Sorry I didn't invite you all, next time though.

To interpret this Aussie lingo   I was sad, cried and felt sorry for myself. I told Bear I'm not even going to the stupid party as there won't be anything I can eat and nobody likes me anyway.  When a girls down, she is really down.

He reassured me I'm a good cook, everyone likes me and gave me a cuddle with a hard swat. In future Bear can do all the baking in our house whilst I sit in the corner sulking. LOL!

OUR WORLDS UPSIDE DOWN

UPDATE

Everyone's busy at this time of year preparing for Christmas, writing lists and checking them twice.
Both Bear and I were looking forward to Christmas doing all the usual things in the lead up. Then our world has been turned upside down.

I made a list to have my hair cut, visit the dentist, eye appointment, when a spanner was thrown in the works.  At my eye appointment the optometrist took a photo of the back of my eyes.  He was then quite concerned as he found spots down the bottom in the back of them.  Alarm bells rang and he advised me to go to my gp as soon as possible for a colonoscopy.

PFFT! That is nonsense Bear exclaimed but we made an appointment anyway.

My gp also thought it was nonsense but sent me for blood tests and stool tests.  Hope this isn't TMI but Bear was grossed out by the samples having to be refridgerated for three days until sent to the lab for testing.  He breathed a sigh of relief to get them out of the house. Mind you they were in little tubes which were all well sealed then in a thick plastic bag.  My gp was more concerned that I had a history of a malignant melanoma so wanted to do a skin check.

I returned to my gp today (Tuesday) for the skin check and results of tests. When he looked up the results he was shocked to see they were positive, so further tests have been ordered.  Being this close to Christmas though everyone slows down, so will have to be after the  BIG day.  Also my skin check was a bit iffy, I have to go for an ultrasound tomorrow as there is a lump behind my knee roughly in the same place as my melanoma and a suspicious looking mole on my foot. Next Monday the mole will be biopsied to check for malignancy.

Feels like deja vu with Christmas 2010 when my first malignancy was found  and the doctor having to ring around for a surgeon to operate.  Why do these things happen when everyone is going on holidays.

I have been sick on and off most of the year, which we put down to my coeliacs disease, although I am extra careful what I eat all the time.  Maybe it was a sign that something else was wrong, as I am always hesitant to go visit the gp.

Anyway that's enough of my grumbling.  Hope everyone else is doing well and prepared for Christmas if you celebrate it.

We are off to meet our family this weekend at the half way point for a lovely celebration.  I didn't want to tell them what was happening but someone  very wise told me if she were a kid she would want to know.  My eldest daughter knew as she is so intune with me that we both know what's happening all the time to each other. So the kids are taking it alright at the moment, thank goodness. Can't wait to see our 7 grandkiddies and give them all a huge hug.

Have a good week everyone.  Thank you all so much for your prayers and positive healing thoughts.
