FFF 18

FFF18 CHECK IN

I usually try to have my FFF check in ready on a Thursday so I can post it Friday.  I think I blinked as I can't believe its  Friday already.  Guess that's what happens when you are busy, busy, busy.

Monday we went on a lovely picnic, then checked out the shops in a little town 75kms from here. It was a glorious day,  sunny blue skies with top temp reaching into the 20c/68f.   I managed to find my wedding outfit with a stamp of approval from my Bear. Also we did a lot of walking so my step count was good.  Oh yes almost forgot we had afternoon tea in a café, so once again Lindy ate cake. LOL! I couldn't resist the caramel slice as its the first one I've had since being coeliac.

You wouldn't believe it had been such a nice day Monday, when we woke up Tuesday to dismal grey skies, thunderstorms and strong winds. I was very tempted to stay home from my aqua class but I braved the elements to go.  Turned out to be a fun class, so I was happy I attended.

Wednesday was tai chi day.  I was very good as didn't go out for cake and coffee afterwards, can you believe. That day I was in and out all day. Firstly for a hair cut, home for lunch, then tai chi, after that Bear took me to buy some aqua shoes. So my step count was pretty good.

Thursday my step count is always up as we do the grocery shopping.

Bear is trying to practice making a good sponge cake for when our daughter comes to visit during the school holidays.  So he busied himself making one Thursday night for me to take to my aqua class Friday morning.  Unfortunately or maybe fortunately for me, the tins were too small.  The cake rose and spilled over the sides. So even though I couldn't take it along to my class it was most appreciated by me.  He has filled it with lemon curd and mascarpone, YUM!

Cake anyone?

Friday morning aqua class  was really good. As I don't start eating until around midday on my 16/8  IF diet, I was starving half way through  class.  Arrived home to find my Bear had prepared brunch for both of us.  My man  spoils me!

Total count this week 3 exercise classes.
Plenty of steps.
Decluttered  and cleaned the cupboard under the kitchen sink.
Scales went down around 1kg/ 2.2 pounds.

Despite eating cake all the exercising is helping me to lose weight.

Today is the first day of winter down under and boy did we know it. My phone told me it was 2.9c feels like 0.4c at 7am this morning.  I think we are in for a long, cold winter from the very start. Mother nature has been hormonal lately, think she has finally shown her true colours.  Hope you are all enjoying your warmer weather in the northern hemisphere.  Stay warm all my friends down under in Australia and New Zealand.

Have a good weekend.

  1. Hi Lindy,

Brr, trying to stay warm, it's got damn cold here now and during the last week we had a particularly cold snap.

Sounds like you had a wonderful week, both FFF wise and otherwise. The caramel slice and sponge look awesome!

Way to go on your goals and the weight loss. Woo hoo :)

  4. Hi Lindy ... Yikes! ... you're getting close to snow temps! ... the only thing I miss about winter is when it's nasty you can hunker down, read and do other indoor sports ;)) ... good for you re all the exercise, losing a whole kg AND eating cake! ... I don't know how I'd manage if Frank was a baker :)) ... have a great weekend! ... nj ,.. xx

    1. That is so true about winter Nora Jean, nice to hunker down to keep warm. Lucky we don't get snow in my part of Australia, although I'd love to see some.

    2. Snow is the only good part about winter here! LOL. At least it pretty things up. Well that and comfort food.

We bypassed spring and jumped right into summer here. I think it was 30 plus C on Friday. Though spring seems to be returning again.

Hey at least the cooler weather will mean the baking won't heat up the house in a bad way! Congrats to you for not only losing weight but for still being in FFF 18 weeks in!

  5. Lindy, That cake looks incredible. I thought of you yesterday. A soft fluffy pillow got plumped up on the end of my bed in an attempt to look like a koala bear. It was kind of a marshmallow version but it did the trick. :)

  6. How good is that, exercising enough to eat cake and lose weight too! We’ve had some lovely weather at the start of summer here but we’ve also had thunderstorms and flooding!
    Keep up the good work!

  8. Good week, Lindy! Can't believe you did so well with all the little treats that popped up. I love to bake, too, and lately I take my creations with me to a writing group which I am guiding. That way Sam and I just have one piece. Keep Warm Down Under.

  10. Hi Lindy! :) GO YOU!!! You are doing super!!! Those cappucinos are so pretty! The cake looks good too. Bear's sponge cake looks delicious! YUM! So great that you were able to partake and still dropped weight!

Nice that you found a dress for the wedding. Not always easy to do, I have heard! Speaking of clothing, bundle up & break out the scarves! Sounds very, very chilly there! We are finally enjoying some nice weather here. It was a long winter! We took out two youngest kids to the beach the other day. I'll take it! It is always so interesting that when you are in winter, we are in summer, and vice-versa! Stay warm! Many hugs,

    ❤️Katie xoxo
