Ami Asks "Have you or haven't you?" Here are my answers.

Have you ever, ever, ever in your long-legged life...

1  Stood on top of a very high mountain or cliff, looking down at countryside, or out to sea?

We are surrounded by cliffs here. So every time I go for my walks I stand on a cliff looking out to sea.  It is such a wonderful feeling.

2  Lay on your back on a hot summer's night, listening to the crickets chirping, and watching the satellites as they chase each other across the heavens?

Do this regularly with Bear.  Love star gazing and trying to spot a shooting star.

3  Skinny-dipped at midnight?

If we had  our own pool definitely.  Unfortunately never had the opportunity.

4  Intentionally or inadvertently swum with sharks?

No I haven't but Bear was swimming one day and we thought he was being followed by sharks, so he was in a panic.  Luckily turned out to be dolphins.

5  Broken a bone in your body?

Yes broken bones in my foot  a few times when I was younger.

6  Driven a car at speeds in excess of 120 mph? (yes, I know it's illegal, but the motorway was very quiet at the time)

No I would be too scared to.  One hundred kmh is fast enough for me.

7  Played "Pooh Sticks"?

No sounds like fun though.

8  Run in a "Pancake" race?

Not sure if we have them in Australia.  We have pancake eating competitions.

9  Had your eyelashes dyed?

No had my hair dyes but not adventurous enough to have my lashes dyed.

10  Ridden a horse naked?

Only ridden a horse once when I was a teenager.  So no,  how boring am I?

11  Punted down the River Cam? (or any other river)

Canoed or paddled down a few rivers in Victoria.  So much fun.

12  Played tennis in a short white tennis skirt whilst wearing minimal knickers?

No

13  Helped an inebriated husband up the stairs at 2 in the morning?

No Bear doesn't drink very much.  He has helped me to bed when I was inebriated though on a couple of occasions.

14  Been too scared to get out of a swimming pool whilst on holiday, due to a very large Doberman sitting on the edge watching you? (no-one was around at the time)

That would have been scary.  Hasn't happened to me thank goodness.

15  Sat in a deckchair snoozing happily whilst the sound of leather on willow echoes distantly in your ears?

Yes on a lovely sunny day whilst on a picnic.

16  Taken a ride on the Maid of the Mist under the Niagara Falls?

No but been to see several beautiful water falls around our new area lately.

17  Climbed up something - rockface, climbing wall, rope in a sports hall, long ladder, tree - and been too scared witless to climb back down?

Oh yes.  I suffer from height sickness but stupidly climbed ladders and even stairs a few times.  When it came to going back down I was a chicken.

18  Been too liberal with the "Eau de Cologne" which then ran down where it shouldn't, which in turn caused you to hop madly around and rip your knickers off and throw them as far from you as you could?

Ouch not eau de cologne but some other liquid.

19  Made snow angels?

No haven't had the opportunity as Bear won't take me to the snow.

20  Lost a shoe in a ploughed field on a moonlight walk home after a party?

Sounds very romantic but no.

21  Shrieked loudly, due to being spanked hard, and frightened away a visitor/s who turned and ran back down your drive - and now you never will know who was about to knock on your door. And you are desperately hoping they will never ask...

We have thought the neighbours have heard us on several occasions.

Can't wait to see other peoples answers to this fun post.  Thanks Ami so much I enjoyed doing it.

funny joke

Here is a joke I saw on face book, thought you might like a laugh to brighten your day.

A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They sit down and engage in an animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following:
“Emma come first. Den I come. Den two asses come together. I come once-a-more. Two asses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come one lasta time.”
“You foul-mouthed sex obsessed swine,” retorted the lady indignantly.
...
“In this country … we don’t speak aloud in public places about our sex lives …
“Hey, coola down lady,” said the man. “Who talkin’ abouta sexa? I’m a justa tellin’ my frienda how to spella ‘Mississippi’.”

TOPSY TURVY WEEK

Hope you don't mind but I'm going to ramble on a bit here if that is alright.

On Monday  it was such a beautiful Spring day with 27c.  After lunch I headed out for my usual walk along the cliff tops to view the port and look for any whales. Coming back I stopped at a look out where a new viewing platform is being built, for a few minutes then headed back home.
Whilst there I saw this guy heading for his car but then he turned around to go back towards where I was standing.  Most people tend to say hello around here when you see them out and about but this guy ignored me. I only had to walk a short distance home down one street, then turned the corner to my street. As I approached our drive way something made me look behind to see this guy slowly following me. Then I noticed he did a u turn when he realised I saw him.  I quickly picked up my pace and shot inside to tell Bear.  He was not impressed at all and told me to ring the police to report him as he had interstate plates.  Pity I didn't think to take a photo of his vehicle.
The police said they would comb the area and appreciated me warning them in case he follows someone else.  Since then I have been too scared to venture out, so Bear has bought me a purse size can of hair spray to carry in future.  That night Bear had to cuddle me all night as I kept having nightmares.

Tuesday we went to a new group we have joined.  Bear had to be the monthly joker, which he was really nervous about as neither of us like public speaking.  We sat on a table with two other woman who were talking about their husbands.  They both said how they love to get away from them, you can't be with anyone 24/7 and kept saying horrible things. One of them turned to me and said you surely must feel that way also.  When I explained how I loved being around my husband, she thought I was crazy.  Both Bear and I were surprised by their reactions as we both enjoy each others company and most times we could become hermits and not leave the house at all. Anyway Bear did his jokes and had to nominate someone for next month, so he nominated one of these woman.  LOL!

The next day Bear said to me that he counts his lucky stars he is married to me and couldn't ask for a better wife.  Neither of us could understand how someone could obviously hate their husband like these two woman.  Maybe we have TTWD to thank for being so close but we have always lived like this.  Also we were shocked one of the other woman lost her husband during the month and has reverted back to her maiden name. I truly don't understand why she would do that.

On Thursday I had a dental appointment,  I have a phobia about dentists. Something must have happened when I was little, so I avoid them like the plague.  A month ago I was supposed to have some extractions but the dentist took my blood pressure which was sky high, so he refused to treat me.  He told me to go back to my doctor for a change of tablets and also get some valium to calm me down.  So Thursday I took my valium around 9am ready for my 10am appointment, then received a phone call asking me to come in straight away.  I told them once there, the valium probably hasn't kicked in.  The dentist took my bp again which was sky high.  He asked if I was apprehensive and when I said no not this time he took it again.  In the end he worked out his machine was playing up so went ahead with the procedure.  Pity I had to wait a whole month for this appointment as I would have loved to be over and done with last month.

I had two extractions and came home to sleep the afternoon away as the valium obviously did kick in eventually.  When I woke up I cooked dinner for Bear but forgot to set the table for dinner.  So my spanky  man gave me two hard swats playfully.  I left a nice letter for the tooth fairy that night saying I was a brave girl and should get a million trillions dollars.  Woke up  Friday morning to zilch but received a good girl spanking and a kiss instead.  Apparently that is how my tooth fairy pays.
At least when I return to the dentist next month I won't be so nervous as it wasn't as bad as I anticipated.

Thank goodness it is the weekend now to recover from the week and relax.  Tomorrow is going to be a nice day again, so I will see if I am game enough to venture out for a walk. Hopefully I will not encounter any further trouble.  Have a good weekend everyone. Lindy

Home sweet home

Leading up to our road trip that I mentioned in a previous blog Bear became suspicious asking heaps of questions.  In particular why we weren't going to our sons for dinner on Saturday night.  I definitely don't have a poker face, so guess he knew something was up.  When I tried to make up excuses he decided to flip me over his knee to have a proper discussion.  It wasn't long with a few ouches and ooowwws  before he managed to get the truth out of me and then spanked me even harder for keeping secrets.  He doesn't like surprises at all. Why does he need to know everything! Anyway he asked me what I had said to be able to get all our family to agree to meeting together.  When I replied he doesn't need to know, he said I needed a harder spanking with his belt by the sounds of things.  So if things didn't go right when we met on the Sunday for fathers day that is what I had to look forward to.

On Sunday I was a bundle of nerves in anticipation of how everyone was going to behave.  It was a perfect day in every way.  Even the weather was kind to us with this being the only day with out rain.  All of our children and their partners had a nice time and conversed with each other.  Also all the grandchildren had the opportunity of playing together after being apart for so long.  We had several family photos taken.  Bear and I had one with all the grandchildren which I will treasure as the last one was just after the twins were born five years ago. To my surprise they all said we shouldn't have left it for so long without mending the drift and now everyone has added each other on face book to keep in touch. Hopefully they will all continue seeing each other even if we can't be down there.  Our eldest granddaughter also turned 13 whilst we were visiting, so that was another celebration besides fathers day.  It was lovely to spend it with her.  I couldn't believe how tall she has grown as she towers over me now.

We spent a lovely four days visiting with our family. Going shopping as we don't have any decent shops in our town, going to the movies and did a drive by our old house.  This was sad as the new owners have let it go so much in just over 12 months.   I caught up with some old friends. Then we headed to Bendigo for two nights especially so I could go to the New Freedom Gluten Free Bakery.  So many delicious things it was like being in heaven.  I bought a few to take on the road with us to enjoy at my leisure.  Bear also bought himself a new flat cap in our family tartan in the Bendigo Hat shop as he lost his other one whilst in our old home town.

After Bendigo we went exploring parts of Victoria we haven't seen before and wound up in Horsham for a couple of nights.   Bear decided we should go out to the local pub for dinner the first night.  I rang ahead to ask if they had a gluten free menu and was assured they did.  On arrival I was told no but they could grill me a chicken fillet with mashed potato.  I decided to go with this as we didn't really have any other options. It was really expensive though at $30 for my meal alone.   That night I put a status on good old face book ranting about the pub with a few f... bombs dropped in it.  Bear  was not very impressed with my language and let me know with a sore bottom.  Anyway big mistake, we should have walked out,  the following day I was so sick as obviously got cross contaminated  from my meal. We have decided in future we will barbecue our own meat to have with salad.

Even though I felt sick we still had a lovely day Saturday,  and had a picnic by the Wimmera River which was very relaxing. Unfortunately all things must come to an end and we headed home Sunday. In all we travelled about 1000kms for the week but it was well worth it.
                                                       beautiful yellow fields of canola
our picnic spot by the Wimmera River
The Grampians on the way home.

We always feel unsettled when we return home after seeing our children and Bear starts looking for a unit in our old area.
Bear keeps telling me how happy he is that I organised this get together.  It was well worth the stress leading up to it to see him happy.  We had plenty of fun spankings and cuddles along the way as our internet connection was poor. So there was nothing to do except connect which was lovely.

We have already booked our next trip down to see the family just before Christmas and D1 and her little boy will be coming up to visit us before then. So life is good in our household.

SPRING AND FATHERS DAY

First day of Spring and the weather is absolutely beautiful.  Breathed a sigh of relief that we didn't lose any loved ones during August like we usually seem to.  I know it is inevitable my brother will eventually leave us and I feel selfish for wanting him to hang on, as the poor guy is suffering so badly.

Anyway we are off on a road trip Saturday to visit our children and grandchildren.  Sunday is fathers day here.  Bear has been discussing with me that he would really love to have all the family together for once, as it has been about four years since that was possible.  Our d.i.l. doesn't get on with our daughters which makes it very unbearable.  Bear has a name for her  'SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED' and also a remedy  if she were his wife.    He told me he would prefer to have the families presence rather than presents as he feels fathers day is too commercialised.  So I said I would ask them about getting together for a picnic on Sunday. I was told not too as it would be putting them on the spot, but naughty me went ahead and did it anyway. OOPS! Can't keep my big mouth shut.

I sent them a joint inbox message on face book saying how their dad would like to see them all as it makes him sad that we can't all be celebrating together.   maybe I laid the guilt on a bit too much. To my surprise everyone said they would love to and also be on their best behaviour.  Miracles do happen!  So fingers crossed the weather is in our favour Sunday or else our alternative is Mcdonalds so the little ones can play.

I guess Sunday night I will know my fate one way or the other if Bear is happy or I will be paying the price.
Hope this isn't me Sunday night.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. We hope you all enjoy celebrations with family and friends Please stay safe...
