My community

Our little community is devastated and in mourning for one of our young locals.  A week after RUOK day my physiotherapist committed suicide.  None of us can rap our heads around it.  She was always a bright, bubbly girl, had a fantastic job, healthy and had everything to look forward to in life.  Everyone loved her as she helped so many people in our community with her magical ways.  I'm one of those people she helped,  as she managed to get me from relying on a walker to get around, to being able to stand up straight without any  aids and walk freely. Yet something obviously triggered her to commit suicide which is so sad.  This goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover and you can't judge a person by their smile.

Make sure you give all your loved ones an extra cuddle and tell them how much you love them.   Try to spend time with them and look behind their smiles to make sure they're really alright.

Anyway I'm going now to read some of my Cassie's road trip book to cheer me up.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

  2. I'm sorry to hear this. Speaking from personal experience this is such a very difficult time. My brother committed suicide 15 years ago. He appeared to be a very happy person and everyone that knew him liked and loved him. Even though someone appears to be so happy on the outside doesn't mean they are happy in their mind. I pray for strength for your community. We have a suicide prevention group in our area that is very helpful. Hugs, Amyee

  3. Lindy, this is so sad. Suicide is devastating for those left behind, with the question "Why?" often unresolved. My family will never know why my handsome, clever and much loved cousin chose to die at the age of 35. Positive thoughts on the way to you all.

  13. Lindy,
This is sorry news. Depression is a very scary thing. I have been there. My family pulled me up out of that sinkhole, thank god.

Have been gone from all of you for a while and missing your friendship. Thinking of you and of course .....

    1. So good to hear from you Ella, we've all been worried. Yes I too have been down that sink hole and return quite often. It is hard to see the silver lining whilst in the doldrums.
Hope to hear more from you soon and all about your trip. Hope you are now on the mend.
