EXHAUSTIPATED!

I thought I had invented a new word EXHAUSTIPATED!  When I googled it there are plenty of images with this word. So I'm not as clever as I thought. At the moment I feel like I could sleep for a whole year with our recent visit from D1 and little J.  Then its been full on preparing for our church fete which was today.  Thank goodness that's over and now I can veg out for a while

I guess I'm not gaining the mother of the year award anytime soon, as I failed miserably whilst D1 and little J were here.  It was a VERY LONG two weeks and I have to admit my patients wore really thin.  D1 needed some mummy time as she was in a bad head space.  So from the day she arrived we pampered her and little J in everyway imaginable.  After the first week I started to be a bit snappy, Bear gave me walk by swats to calm me down.

By last Sunday we had both lost it.   Running  late getting ready for church,  little J announced to his Mum "I'm hungry".  D1 had taken herself off to bed, so said ask Nanny to make you something to eat.  Snappy Nanny yelled I don't have time we need to leave in 5 minutes.  So D1 said something in retaliation which I didn't quite hear.    On returning home we had a sink full of dirty dishes to face. Bear was ropable as his  usual Sunday is to come home and make scones for lunch.  Then something else happened which I didn't quite see.  Luckily little J was in the bedroom with his mum as Bear let the C**t word rip as he almost tripped over something which was in his way.  That is one word I CAN NOT stand, he was so angry he said he wouldn't make scones for lunch yet reneged after a while.  I washed all the dishes whilst he prepared the scones, leaving some on the sink in his way. Cheekily I said I better dry them before you call me a C**t for being in your way.  Oh boy I lived to regret that,  he took the wooden spoon and let fly on  my poor  bottom...  whack, whack whack.....OUCH! Thank goodness  D1s hearing isn't very good, as its a wonder she didn't come out asking what was happening.  The next three days went by in a whirl before we sent D1 and little J home in better moods all round.

Bear and I went inside after waving good bye with a sigh of relief. Then Bear dragged me into the bedroom for a well deserved spanking with the cricket bat followed by some tender loving care.

We really do love our daughter just that its trying having to do absolutely everything when she visits.  Guess that's what families are like though.

At least I made it back to blogland in time for the cookie exchange which was heaps of fun.  Found so many delicious recipes which I'm keen to try.  Will catch up on reading everyone's posts over the next few days.

Enjoy your weekend.
Hugs Lindy xx

  1. Hi Lindy, I'm sorry the visit wasn't without its frustrations but I'm sure you were glad to have your daughter and grandson with you and that there were also wonderful moments. Exhaustipated...love it!

    1. Thanks Roz. Over all it was lovely having them both here. Just wish D1 would help a bit at times though. Its as if she gets here and drops her bundle in my lap.

  2. Lindy,
We love family, but they can be most tiring indeed. Rest and cuddle with your Bear.

  3. Family...can't live with 'em...can't kill 'em. LOL I know you love your daughter and grand very much, Lindy. But when not only is your household schedule thrown off but you are basically doing everything, it can be extremely tiring and frustrating. Hopefully the next visit will be better. Lovely that Bear cleared the air quickly and you're both back on track. Now try to rest a bit. ;)

    Hugs and blessings...Cat

  4. That is why a family's love is unconditional because as much as you adore each other you also drive each other crazy! :-) I missed the cookie exchange this year...but hopefully next year I will get to participate...or maybe I will just post a recipe or two next week when I am busy baking for the holidays. :-) Hugs

    1. Pity you missed the cookie exchange. The cake on mine is the one I was going to share with you, sorry I didn't get around to emailing it.

Look forward to seeing yours if you can manage amongst your heavy schedule next week.

  5. Wow! That is quite the whirlwind of a visit! I'm glad you enjoyed spending time with your family... But it did sound exhausting... My mom is a sweetie and she is so helpful when I go to her house... Not a chance she would be as nice as you though😂 But then... She had girls, I have all rambunctious boys... I think they would have her tied in knots within 10 minutes if I let her do all the work 💕 Loved your post☺️

  6. Sometimes it is as much a relief when family leaves as when they arrive.
