The other day for my photo challenge the prompt was 'today'. As we weren't going out anywhere exciting, I decided to pull my blank canvas out and try to paint this wonderful idea I had floating around my head. Thinking it and doing it are two totally different things and I blew it BIG TIME. Then cracked the poops even BIGGER.
Bear wasn't happy with my attitude, so grabbed me by the hand heading for the bedroom. He was mighty swift to bend me over the bed and whack, whack, whack with his hand. Then went to his bedside drawer to retrieve the table tennis bat, pulled down my knickers and let me know his displeasure about my 'tude with what seemed like a very, very long volley of splats on my derriere. I was soon apologising and begging him to stop. My attitude was restored to being happy again even with a sore behind.
Think from now on I'll stick to my usual craft work and leave the painting to our more talented friend Minelle.
Good luck to all our USA friends.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Hi Lindy, I am absolutely hopefully at any of the arts and crafts and really admire those who do possess the talent. Glad Bear was able to restore your mood to happy :)

Roz
Thank you Roz. I'm glad I'm not the only one without an arty bone in my body.

Hi Lindy, I am hope less at anything arty too. At least you got a spanking out of it!
ReplyDeletelove Jan, xx
Hi Jan, So you, Roz and I can join each other in not being arty. Yes I was able to get a spanking out of it which helped. Hope everything is going smoothly for you.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Same as Roz and Jan, hopeless at anything arty. Happy Bear was able to restore your mood.

Thanks Ronnie. guess I'm not the only one then that failed at art.

Hi, Lindy,
DeleteSo glad peace has been restored. I guess several of us fall into that uncrafty bunch. At least we are in good company.

I always envied anyone with some artistic ability....that train left without me on it...at least you ended up on the good side of things.
ReplyDeletehugs abby
Thank you Abby. I also envy others with artistic abilities. Wish we were all blessed with them.

"Cracked the poops"..LOL! Though my dearest friends are Australian, I am STILL getting used to the expressions...Cracked the.... or pulled the ****. Not things we here up in Canada! LOL.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was just a bad day to attempt to paint to begin with. Don't give up. Try just shapes and shading for a while. Grab a pencil, draw swirly lines that intersect with each other, and 'colour' them in. Enjoy the process instead of the end result!
Happy you feel better regardless!
willie
Thank you Willie. I've attempted mandalas before and zentangle with success. Just thought this would work out. Glad I made you laugh with cracked the poops.

OK, Miss Lindy. You need to provide a link when using batshit crazy Aussie expressions. Found it at last. It is actually quite an attractive expression for someone with a temper. I may try it out sometime.
ReplyDeleteAs far as art is concerned, stick figures are my limit.
Sending Hugs Downunder,
Ella
Ella I didn't realise cracked the poops was an Aussie saying. I thought it would be world wide. LOL! Think I'll stick to stick figures, even then they look weird.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Lindy,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ella. We need a glossary here. I am taking an online drawing class and things are not going well.
Meredith
Sorry Meredith, didn't realise it was an Aussie saying. Never mind mate, it'll be bonza. LOL! There is some more Aussie slang for you.
DeleteNow that would be interesting to do an online class. Never thought of that, thanks for the idea.
Hugs Lindy xx
I wouldn't win any prizes for art either. As Jan said, at least you got a spanking out of it.
ReplyDeleteRosie xx
Think most of us aren't gifted with artistic bones in our bodies. Yes that was one way to get Bears attention.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Seems as if all turned out well in the end. And thanks for the luck - we surely need it.
ReplyDeletePK everything did end well and I got some attention. LOL! Hope you're surviving.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Now see here Ms Lindy! You can paint! Everyone can! We need a plan. I will give you some ideas.... a beginning! We will talk.
ReplyDeleteToday had a minor procedure so I'll wait till I can email better!
Glad Bear took care of the 'tude.'
Thank you Minelle some advice would be wonderful. No hurry though just when you have a spare minute.
DeleteBear is good at taking care of my 'tude.
Hope everything is going well for you.

Lindy! You need a barn burner for putting yourself down like that! Listen to Minelle...she's a wonderful artist and teacher and I'm sure she can give you more guidance. Oh and let me tell you...many of my paintings started out as one thing and got painted over to become something else. So just because the original idea didn't work out...shift. ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings...Cat
Haha a barn burner, wow that is something. I will wait patiently for Minelles tips on painting before destroying the evidence.
