CELEBRATIONS

Before Thanks Giving in the USA,  one of our lovely blog friends wanted to include me in all the celebrations.  So she found a place in Victoria which sells USA food and ordered me a pumpkin pie mix.  As it was just Bear and I home at the time, I asked if it would be alright to keep for when D1 came up for the new year, she was totally  cool with this idea.

Come the new year we had so much food to consume, I delayed making the pumpkin pie for a few days.  Then I bought some gluten free biscuits to make the base and prepared to bake with helpful step by step instructions from her along the way. It was really delicious, couldn't get either Bear or little J to try it though. They don't know what they're missing out on.

And voila one American pumpkin pie.

Some good news to share, my biopsy on my foot came back all clear of cancer.  Yay!  Doing my happy dance here.

Two things out of three with good outcomes, just have to wait for the third big test for the other problem and we will be celebrating.  Will be glad to have this over with some answers, talk about leaving us hanging.  The trouble is over Christmas/New Year everyone goes on holidays, so the operating theatres are closed for everyone except emergencies.

A big thank you to everyone who sent me Christmas cards and pressies.  I was thoroughly spoilt and they are still arriving, due to Australia Post being as slow as a wet week.  Bear is really happy with something which arrived today. With D1 and little J here there hasn't been any opportunities for spanky business or MFL. So he has a very itchy hand and counting down the days until they go home.  Don't get me wrong, he loves having them here, just that a whole week of no action drives him nuts.

So come Sunday afternoon when our visitors hit the road, Bear will be road testing his present to see how effective it can be. I don't think he will be playing paddle ball, do you?  More like a nice good girl spanking and some MFL hopefully.

Have a good weekend everyone.

    1. Thank you so much Jan. The pumpkin pie was actually different to what I expected and was delish. I think once D1 goes home I might follow your lead and go sugar free. Had so much food over the last few weeks, I'm ready to burst.
Hope you're having fun with your family.

  4. Great start to the new year, Lindy! One test to go and we are all sending prayers and positive thoughts.

We always had to have 2 pumpkin pies at Thanksgiving. One for our youngest son and one for everyone else. S2 still loves pumpkin pie!

  5. Great start to the new year with such good news. The last test is going to be clear also, I just know it. Glad you like the pumpkin pie - it's a staple here much like pavlova there. A dollop of whipped cream on top is great - try whipping the coconut cream.

  6. Geez, lady, you are well loved! Glad to hear of the positive health news. Doing a happy dance for that good tidbit. Praying for you on the other test. That paddle ball looks a bit stingy, but hope you get the results you are hoping for on Sunday.

I am with the bear; I like my cakes to be made out of yummy sweet things, not a vegetable. Try and stay cool for the next day or two.
