Merry Christmas to all my wonderful friends. I hope you have all been good or else you know what Santa does if you are on his naughty list. Over his knees with you and a well deserved spanking.

No matter how you celebrate, I hope you have a nice time. Think of us down under celebrating on a lovely warm summers day.

Merry Christmas from Lindy and Bear.

FFF #45

How on earth are we supposed to stick to healthy eating with all those delicious recipes floating around with the cookie exchange.  I think just reading everyone's contributions added 100 kgs. LOL!

This time of the year is way too hard to stick to healthy eating.  I went out to lunch with my photography friends Wednesday.  Wonderful venue, awesome friends and a beautiful view.  We all ate, drank and were merry.

Our summer has finally arrived so we have switched from cooked vegetables to salads. My favourite part of the year meal wise. Love eating it with fish , meat or what ever takes our fancy.  Hopefully its a better choice to help me on the weight loss cycle. Although its just way too hard with all the never ending Christmas celebrations around.

This week I have managed my steps, a few other exercises my osteopath gave me to  keep me mobile. Guess that's something.

So so hot here today, it reached 39c. We usually have it below 20c where I live, its such a huge difference.

Have a good weekend everyone. Not a very good report but I'm too tired.

The Great Online Cookie Exchange Extravaganza

The Great Online Cookie Exchange Extravaganza turns NINE!
Thank you once again for hosting this fun day Jz.
I love this time of year when we all exchange our recipes. They all look so delicious.

This year I'm sharing one of Bears and one I made recently in a cooking demo.

On Sundays Bear always makes a delicious brunch, so this is  his recipe. Maybe you and your family might like to make them for Christmas morning breakfast. You can add any toppings, I like mine with either mango like in the photo below or blueberries, mascarpone and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Gluten free Waffles

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups 310 grams gluten free S.R..flour

75 grams caster sugar

3 eggs

125 grams oil = 150 mls

2 cups - 500ml milk

Preparation:

Place eggs, sugar and milk in a large bowl, beat to combine. Add oil, then flour, beat until thick and thoroughly blended.

Use level 1/3 cup of mix per waffle. Spray waffle maker, pour mix into middle and spread with spatula. Lower lid, hold down firmly until waffle is cooked as desired and comes away cleanly.

Serve with your favourite topping.

NUTTY CHOC BALLS

Ingredients:

2 Cups pitted dates
3/4 cup raw cashews or nut your like
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 pinch of salt

Method:

Toss everything into a food processor and chop until mixture starts to go smooth and clumped together.

Take golf ball size pieces and roll in your hands. Then roll in the coconut to coat.
Refrigerate for about 30 minutes until firm.

Can also be made into bars by pressing into a square dish lined with parchment paper. Cut into fingers after placing in the fridge for 30 minutes.
 The kids will love them.

Bon Appetit!

FFF #44

Been running to catch up with the FFF train this week. Well not really, more like crawling like a sloth. LOL! Only accomplished my steps and have done a bit of decluttering.

I need help though please?  I had a medical appointment for some test results this week. Lucky me has managed to add another autoimmune disease to my box of tricks. Anyway the doctor told me I need to lose weight and eat healthily.

Bear was in the surgery with me and we both tried telling the doctor we already do eat a healthy diet. So this is where I need help...….I am still doing the 16/8 fasting as I find it works for me.
My daily diet Monday to Saturday consists of brunch which is rice porridge, yoghurt with fruit. Then for dinner we alternate between red meat and chicken grilled with either steamed or roast vegetables. I very rarely eat between meals, so I can't cut anything out like biscuits, cake or lollies.

Yes ok I do cheat on the odd occasion eating cake but not as often as I would like.

Sundays my brunch is usually either waffles, pancakes or scones which Bear makes for me. Also we have a roast for dinner. Apart from skipping my Sunday treat I can't see how I can eat any more healthier than what I already am.

What would you all suggest to do please?
Also I am unable to exercise properly at the moment due to this new ailment. Oh the joys of growing old!

Hope you have all had a good week.

Ladies and Gentlemen of THE LAND lend me your ears.

Today in our Herald/Sun newspaper is an interesting article where a husband is asking if his wife is cheating on him.

Question:  My wife and I have been married for 12 years. Recently she has been wanting to try new things, such as sex toys and new positions. I've heard this can be a sign someone is having an affair - should I be worried?

The so called sexpert answered that this could be correct. LOL! That because you ask your partner to experiment you must be cheating. Pffft! I will try copying this article but not sure if you can read it properly.

So does this make all of us guilty of cheating on our partners because we went to our husbands/wives to ask for a bit of  kink to spice up our marriage. Bear and I had a good laugh about this article and couldn't believe that a bit of spice in the bedroom would make someone think you were cheating on them.

Maybe she was tired of the missionary position, or had just read FSoG like a lot of us did. Or you might just bore her buster.

Then the sexpert goes on to say its perfectly normal to want to experiment. Make up your mind woman, which side are you taking!

What do you all think about this bit of rot?

FFF #43

Another week come and gone with nothing significant to report from down under.  We have been out and about most days, so I managed my steps, also did a bit of decluttering.

Would you believe on Monday it was 38c/110.4f in my part of the woods. We had to dust off our summer clothes.  Since then it has only topped 14c/57.2f with snow in parts of Victoria.

10cm snow overnight at Falls Creek, Victoria

Snow today in Tasmania

Mother nature is so hormonal as its seven days to the start of summer here. Where, oh where is the nice weather?????? Back to winter clothes again, how silly! Maybe we might have a white Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends who celebrate it in the USA. Hope you all had a lovely day with family and friends.

Have  a wonderful weekend.

LOVE OUR LURKERS DAY 2

Still waiting for all my silent readers to come out and play. I saw a fabulous idea on The Continued Journey asking for everyone to say what part of the world you come from. You don't need to say your actual address, just a rough locality. I know most of my blogger friends are from the USA, a few from Canada, a  bunch from England and one from New Zealand. Where are you from?

I'm from Victoria, Australia and would really love to hear from other Aussies. You never know we might be neighbours or live close enough to meet for a chat over a cup of tea.

So come on time to fess up that you have been lurking, I'm not going to judge you by your beliefs. Drop me a comment about anything, or just say G'day mate!

LOVE OUR LURKERS DAYS 13

Welcome!  Whether you are a regular reader, leaving comments on my posts or an occasional visitor, thank you for dropping by.

I was a lurker many years ago, too shy to  visit regularly, never dreamt about leaving a comment.

Then one year I  hopped around visiting everyone's posts on LOL day, leaving comments here and there. Still didn't feel comfortable though as I thought no one would want to hear from me.  A few actually said to me I should start my own blog to which I replied Bear would never let me. Yet here we are down the road, I've  joined the team. They are all a fabulous bunch of like minded people, everyone is so nice, giving great advice if you need it, encouraging you with kind words when you are down.

Through blogging I have made so many lovely friends, we also communicate via email or face book.
Just wish the world was smaller so we could visit each other, would be so nice to chat over a cup of tea and cake.

So if you too are shy just remember we were all in your shoes at one stage. Today is your chance to say HELLO to us all. We will make you very welcome and hope you will also find the courage to join us with your own blog one day. No one is going to judge you by your beliefs or the way you and your partner practice TTWD/DD or what ever name you call yours. There are no rules to this way of living, we all do it our own way.

Please do leave a comment or ask me a question if you like. I'll try my best to answer it. If you prefer to make contact via email rather than here, let me know we can soon arrange that. what are you waiting for, there is nothing to lose and you never know you might make a bunch of friends if you step out of the shadows. You can remain anonymous, use a pseudonym or whatever you feel comfortable doing.

If you have read this far, thank you once again for visiting. Hermione has  added a list of participants  so you can go blog hopping. I tried to copy and paste to the bottom here but it didn't work.

Hugs Lindy xx

FFF #42

Oh dear this week has been a huge fail for me which I thought it would with all the functions I have attended. Things have gone down, Down, DOWN.  No exercising what.... so.... ever...….oh except for heaps of walking, well that's exercise right!

Heaps of functions equals heaps of food.  One in particular was a cooking demonstration where we were divided into groups to actually do the cooking. This was so much fun as I learnt a few new things. after this we all sampled everyone's cooking. YUM!

So all in all my FFF this week is fail fail fail!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. We hope you all enjoy celebrations with family and friends Please stay safe...
