HELLO

Thought I better check in to let you know I'm still in the land of the living.  The winter BLUES have struck our house, its way too cold to do anything and my Bear is feeling depressed.

I had thought things weren't right for a while as he seemed to have lost interest in both spanking and making love.  He finally admitted to me he was feeling down.  Why do our HoHs expect us to talk about our problems, yet when it comes to them they keep it locked away inside? Although he has been retired for nearly two years now, he appears to be missing work and most importantly his work mates.  I know how he feels as it took me a good while to get over not working anymore and I still miss my workmates terribly.

So even though I've tried my hardest to interest him in a bit of action, there is naught happening. Hopefully when the weather starts to warm up a bit in spring he will be alright and ready for action. Until then I will keep visiting everyone's blogs to keep in touch with you all.

Hope you're all doing better with your summer time fun.
Hugs Lindy

  1. Lindy, Hang in there!! I certainly understand what you're saying. Winter's where I am are brutal. There's two things I've never understood. 1) Why the heck is winter soooooo long? and 2) Why don't they just pass a law making Spring, Summer, and Autumn each 4 months long instead of 3 and just do away with winter. Problem solved!! Again, hang in there.

    1. Yes I'm with you Eva, winter should be band and the other seasons lengthened. Much prefer spring or autumn when its not too hot or too cold.....just right.

Trying hard to hang in there.

  2. I'm sorry he's feeling down. I hope you can find some ways to perk him up before waiting until Spring. Are there any things in your areas for older couples? Cards, dancing, anything where he could be around some men and make new contacts. Perhaps even a part time job. It sounds like you're doing the wifely things alright, but he's going to need some men in his life. Good luck to you.

    1. PK thanks for your ideas. We did join a mixed Probus group which I'm enjoying but not so much Bear. Hopefully if I do a bit of research I can find something else to hold his interest.

  3. Good advice from PK. Sam needs to be with other men sometimes just like I need to be with other women. He likes to go shooting out on a target range, and he always comes home renewed. Some men like golf or swimming. Just having a small part time job can sometimes help immensely.

    Sending Hugs Downunder,

    1. I think it would benefit Bear if he had a bit of time with other men. Will look for some groups for him to join.

  6. Hi Lindy, oh sorry to hear about you winter blues. What about Bear doing some voluntary work , some where he could mix with a few other chaps. Hopefully when the weather picks up so will everything else.

  7. Oh, Lindy, poor Bear and poor you, the winter blues are no fun at all. I can't add anything to the good advice above. I'm sure mixing with other blokes will help, we all need the company of our own sex, I think. In the meantime, hang in there and don't be a stranger, you have many friends in Blogland.

  9. That's cute that your winter is too cold to do anything ( says the Canadian tongue and cheek). I agree that the darkness is the worst part though. I can tolerate the cold, and we get COLD, but it is the lack of light that plays havoc on me.

Can't Bear have a weekly meet up with his old work mates? Or a few times a month?

    1. Yes I know Wilma our cold is nothing like your cold winters. I'm just a sook I guess.
Unfortunately we now live 600 kms from where his workmates live. We moved 500kms from our old house and Bear work an extra 100kms from that house. So not possible. He keeps in touch via face book.
Something will come up for him soon.

  10. I settled right into retirement..and I cannot imagine Master ever doing that. Even for those who look forward to it..it is an adjustment. We have had more 90 plus degree days this summer than ever...could we trade some coolness for some heat?

    1. Abby I would love to trade some of our cold weather for your heat. would be nice if it was just right all year around. Guess we always want what we can't have.
It is a big adjustment going into retirement and for the first two years we did heaps of travelling. I think now we are confined as Bear is limited on his driving he is feeling it more.

  11. I'm so sorry the blues are visiting you guys.
I was going to ask what Wilma did. I saw your response. My dad got together periodically with his work friends.
I think it's important to socialize with your own set of friends. I hope he can connect with some other men who have similar interests.
I'll think about you guys and hope thinks perk up!
