HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Happy Halloween to all who celebrate it.  It's starting to catch on a bit more in Australia, probably not as much as my American friends.  Hope for those of you who trick or treat you receive some nice things. We don't usually have anyone call around, although we are prepared with some lollipops.

I've been made an admin of one of the photo groups I belong to.  This week was my turn to pick the prompts, so I thought I would have a bit of fun with Halloween theme photos.  The head of the group was not at all pleased with my choices telling me that no one in the group does Halloween.  Well to my delight, everyone is getting into the spirit and posting some awesome photos.  I feel like I've achieved something.  LOL!

I have a question for all my author friends in blog land.  As there are several different Amazon sites and I buy mine through amazon.com.au do you receive notification when someone does a book review?  Once I read a book, I straight away review it before I forget.  I've been finding that I'm the only one in the land down under who has either read or reviewed these books.  Wonder how many are sold down here or am I the only one who reads dirty books as my daughter calls them.

Nothing much been happening around here, plenty of GGs and MFLs, time is sure flying though.  I've joined a group called mermaids (aqua aerobics).  Its fun and keeping me fit along with bike riding.  On most days there are around 20 mermaids and one very brave merman, he laps up all the attention. Had D1 and little J visit recently for Bear's birthday.  D1 definitely knows about our life style now, as whilst she was here I was on the receiving end of constant swats.  One in particular happened when I was washing the lunch dishes.  Bear had filled the sink with straight hot water which I didn't know until I immersed my hands.  I let out an exclamation FAR OUT!  Both Bear and D1 thought I dropped the F bomb, so Bear gave me one almighty hard swat, which hurt so much,  I said FAR OUT again. D1 said there you go again dropping the F bomb you deserve a spanking.  LOL!  This is coming from Ms Potty mouth herself.

Its still rather chilly here surprisingly.  We can be in the mid teens yet where our children live they are having temperatures 30c+.   We had packed away our winter woollies only to rescue them again as the winds are so icy.

Hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying life to the max with plenty of spanky business.

Hugs Lindy xx

  4. Hello Lindy, congrats on becoming an admin in one of your groups. I wondered how the prompts were chosen. Hallowe’en is pretty big here now, the third biggest celebration after Christmas and Easter. Harry and I don’t celebrate it though.
Glad you’re getting some spanky fun - had to laugh at D1’s comments.

    1. It is fun so for being an admin. I think I'll stir them up a bit though with my choices for prompts. LOL!
Hope you and Harry are having your own kind of fun even if not celebrating Halloween.

  5. Boo! Happy Halloween Lindy! I love that you got your photo group out to do something new and different. It's good to spice things up a bit. And way to go on the water aerobics. :) I've got about fifteen bags of candy lined up for our trick-or-treaters. We always have a big crowd. Amy

  6. I love your photos and isn't it nice when you get acknowledgement for your creativity.
You're summer has not warmed up yet and our winter hasn't chilled down yet. Maybe we did a flip and no one told us.
To answer your question about reviews - No, we only see review of those who purchase their books through Amazon.com. I always thought that wasn't fair since they sell and we have readers in other locations as well, but...
Glad you enjoyed Bear's b'day and your gkids.

    1. Maybe we need to do a bit of a trade off with our weather Sunny. I send you some cooler days if you can send a tiny bit of warmth my way.
Thank you for answering my question. I wondered if you were told about reviews. Seems rather silly to me that you aren't notified.

  7. Halloween is never as exciting as when I was a teacher. I planned a party that lasted all day! Every subject had a Halloween themed lesson. Scary stories for reading and writing, estimation and fractions for math. Maps of haunted houses for geography. What a day we had.

We watched the old Disney animated "Legend of Sleepy Hallow" with the character of Ichabod Crane. There were lots of treats all day, too. I was not one of those teachers who served celery sticks for parties!! I believed in sugar.

Glad you are well, Lindy! We haven't heard from you in a while, so you must be behaving yourself. Sam likes to swat me in the kitchen, as well.

    Sending Hugs and Love Downunder,

  8. Hi Lindy,
Happy All Souls day to you as well.
Just back from a trip O/S (the reason for no posts lately) and it is great to hear that you and your family are well. Getting back to the reality of 17 degrees C after 3 weeks of humid 30+ degrees has been hard work. The humidity was great as all my arthritis magically disappeared.
Many photos to look at and edit

    Many hugs

    1. Good to hear from you Don. Lucky you travelling where it was warmer and your arthritis disappearing. It must be so hard to adjust to the chilly days again though.
Would love to see your photos of the trip.

  9. Happy Halloween, Lindy...

Since I live in the country, trick-or-treaters are few are far between...the last were probably 6 or 7 years ago. Bear owes you a treat for the undeserved spanking. Sounds like D1 needs a spanking for her potty mouth. LOL Wish I could find an aqua aerobics class around here.

    1. Seems to be the way with country towns, Cat. No trick or treaters came around here and I've got a bag of lollipops going begging.
Wish you lived down here to go to mermaids with me. It would be so much fun.

  10. Lindy, Hope you had a lovely Halloween. Not a fan myself and we don't celebrate. We didn't have one single trick or treater though I did see a few children with parents when we went into town.

  12. Hi Lindy,
Your story made me laugh. Our kids are small and I wonder sometimes what it will be like when they're older... will we tell them about our lifestyle... will they figure it out... will they want what this in their relationships?
I like that we are all at different stages in our dynamics and can glean from each other.
    Hugs,
    Jlynne
