Oh dear gmail is the pits at the moment, its almost got me in trouble three times in as many weeks.
Let me explain, I have my blog gmail which I have on my laptop. This is always signed in, I just have to press on the icon and voila its up. Then I have my personal gmail on the desk top computer always signed in.
First incident...... I made a HUGE HUGE mistake as some how I was signed into my blog gmail on the desk top. One of our grandsons has a you tube which he likes me to watch, like and comment. The other week I was watching his video, then added a comment giving him praise, pressed publish. Oops its not my Nanny gmail its my Lindy gmail. I was in a panic hoping it would go unnoticed, which so far I think it has, as our daughter hasn't commented. Phew!
Second incident......I checked in the land the other morning on the desk top, found Amy's post Saved by the bell, so proceeded to leave a comment. I noticed just in time it was my real name OOPS! Tried to change it to my other gmail, my comment disappeared. So retried then decided to go anonymous rather than lose my comment again. So sorry Amy that is why my comment came through as that.
Third incident.....Now this is a HUGE one. My friend rang me yesterday around lunch time asking if we had internet connection as hers wasn't working. She then asked if she could come around to use ours as she had promised to do something for a friend overseas, we said yes of course.
I handed over my laptop for her to do her business whilst I went to make us a cup of tea. Next thing she called out its gone into your gmail. I was so embarrassed as the first thing which came up was.... The way we roll......topless and sassy downunder. Oh dear did she see this or just glanced and looked away. Is my secret out to this friend. Anyway I rectified that by signing out and she happily signed into her gmail. Now I'm worried she noticed this heading and is curious.....What does my friend do in her spare time?
So they say things go in threes, hopefully that is my fair share of goofing up with the wrong gmail signed in on posts. Hopefully from now on I will think and look properly before doing anything on gmail.
See you all Friday for FFF.
Happy hump day everyone.
Hugs Lindy xx

Hi Lindy, oh gosh, I would have been panicking! A hazzard for all of us. I panick whenever someone else goes near my tablet. I saw your comment under annon on Amy's blog and thought it was curious.

Roz
That's the reason why. One thing I hate about the internet is others finding out about 'our secret'
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Love it, my friend! That is hilarious! Hears hoping to no more gmail incidents!
ReplyDelete--Baker
There better not be anymore gmail mishaps. don't think I could take it. Thanks Baker.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
I confess, I know exactly how you feel..and I have learned to be much more careful....and really, I think we imagine the worse...and most things are just brushed off...and life goes on..hugs abby
ReplyDeleteI agree Abby, I'm most likely thinking the worst. I will be more careful before I press send in future.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Oh, no, Lindy! I've had an accident once for far as well. LOL! But, I doubt your friend will ask anything if she even saw anything at all. But even so, she'd probably be too embarrassed to ever mention it. LOL! Sorry for the panic though as that is no fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Windy no mention of it so far. Fingers crossed she didn't notice anything.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
My dad used to say, 'You wouldn't worry about what people thought of you if you realized how seldom they did.' It's probably true and I doubt your friend paid any attention. That being said, I remember the extreme worry of being 'found out'. It will get your heart racing for sure! Good luck on keeping the secret!
ReplyDeleteYour dad was very wise saying that PK. I'm sure others don't think so much about what I do in the privacy of my own home.

Oh my, Lindy, you've just described my worst NJ nightmare! ... that I'll forget 'who' I am when I comment (I also comment on a vanilla blog or two under my 'other' name). i also get a bit freaked out if any family members ask to use the desktop for something as NJ is hidden but not entirely (ie she is on the list of possible Google sign ins) ... leading this double life can get a bit nerve wracking! ... NJ ... xx
ReplyDeleteNoraJean its easy to forget our identities when replying to multiply emails with different names. Be careful my friend!
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Lindy,
ReplyDeleteYou had me laughing as we have all had times like yours. Sometimes it just isn't easy being a ttwd blogger. Right?
Meredith
It sure isn't easy Meredith. I just wish we could be honest with everyone so they all know. Silly we have to keep it hidden.

Well Hello Anonymous, No apology necessary. I knew it was you. ;) I've had slip ups with gmail and where I get bitten is with Auto-Correct. I've sent some pretty stupid sounding stuff when the smart phone or smart laptop out thinks me. LOL Thanks for the reminder to look close before pressing send. ;)
ReplyDeleteAmy
Oh Amy auto correct is so stupid at times the things it changes. Your welcome for the reminder.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
A lesson to us all, Lindy. Hope your friend had other things on her mind. I was close to panic once when my son went on my notebook to help with a cell phone problem.
ReplyDeleteSending Hugs Down Under,
Ella
Oh gosh Ella that would have been awkward with your son seeing it. I am always worried my daughter will when she visits.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
I can imagine the panic you experienced.. when I was working and living a double life so to speak -- things could get hairy from time to time.... One of the hardest things I did was 'friend' folks from my dark life on Facebook..... I sweated they would let something slip. I made sure they all knew my 'grandson' followed 'granny's' antics on FB.
ReplyDeletemmmm am thinking I might do a humorous entry on slip ups of my own one day soon (thanks for the inspiration-- LOL)
Double lives can be tricky having to keep them separate.
DeleteGo for it look forward to reading your humorous post.
Hugs Lindy xx
I can understand your panic but if your friend did see, I'm sure she wouldn't want to cause embarrassment between the two of you. Well at least not right away.
ReplyDeleteYes I don't think she would say anything. Hopefully her mind was on doing her own thing, thanks Sunny.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Hi Lindy, oops, things like this have happened to all of us I reckon. Still made me laugh though....
ReplyDeletelove Jan, xx
Thanks Jan, I'm glad I made you laugh. I will be extra careful in future.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Hi Lindy,
ReplyDeleteLets all hope that the rule of threes applies. If not I would hope that friend would end up laughing more than frowning.
Thanks Don, yes hoping the rule of 3s has seen the last of my mishaps.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
I believe that things happen in threes, so you are done with the gmail oops. I hope that it is all something to laugh about and nothing more than that.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping also Blondie that is my quota. Nothing else can go wrong surely.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Hi Lindy,
ReplyDeleteIf all she could have saw was "Topless and Sassy Downunder," I wouldn't worry. It doesn't sound like anything risky. If she did notice it and ever asks, you could simply play it off as an email to a friend about you Tai-Chi class. Stick with truth, explains you were joking about being to cold to take your jacket off in class.
If definitely doesn't sound like anything spanking related and not too sexual. A vanilla person really shouldn't read anything into it.
Piper
Thanks for visiting Piper and oh so true. I will tell her it was a joke if she comments. so far so good.
DeleteDrop by again soon.
Hugs Lindy xx
I've done that and once left a comment with my real name. I'm much more careful now. I doubt your friends paid much attention.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Ronnie
xx
Oh dear Ronnie, I'm hoping she didn't see. I am more careful from now on.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
It’s so easy to do when we have several email accounts. I once sent an email to a business associate from my Rosie Jones account. Now, I keep that one well separated from the others!
ReplyDeleteRosie xx
Golly gosh Rosie, how embarrassing. Did anyone comment on your email? Its hard having multiple accounts with different names and pw.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
I've had a few slip ups as well. Even on my own personal laptop that only I use 99% of the time, I have set up two accounts for this exact situation. One is mine, where I put everything and is password-protected. The other one anyone can use!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't prevent me from answering vanilla stuff from this account or vice versa though. I have learned to be a lot more careful!
