Sunday 27 January 2019

I've been AWOL for a while, for various reasons. When I checked the date of my last post I was surprised to see it was Christmas Eve. A WHOLE MONTH, wow! Anyway I've noticed things are different in the land.

Yes I know people come and people go. This brings to mind the Bob Dylan song Times they are a changin'.

Where is everyone hiding?  Are we all just running out of things to write about or not willing to share?

When I see someone who I've been friends with in the land disappear it makes me worry that something might be wrong with them. You all feel like part of my family as I've known you for around five years now.

Are you all alright?

Still recovering from a hectic Christmas/New Year period?

Just run out of ideas to post about?

Or like me no action happening at moment? Which is totally driving me crazy.

  1. Hi Lindy,

It's so wonderful to see you pop up in my blogger dashboard:) I too worry about blog friends when they disappear from the land for a bit.

It's been a hectic time here too as I worked straight through the Christmas break this year plus a family wedding with another one this coming weekend and taking care of Dad for a couple of days when he had eye surgery.

Sorry about the lack of action and hope all is otherwise well and that you are surviving the heat wave over there.

    Hugs

    1. Thanks Roz, boy you have been very busy. It was really hard to take the heat this week, well over 40c. How's your weather been?

  2. Lindy -- I remember a while back a friend disappearing POOF from Blogland it is unnerving. Back then I remember thinking if I ever stop writing on The Journey I will at the very least post a "I'm not dead just not posting right now" sort of post :)

I've been watching the temps over there and feeling a bit jealous -- we've been way below 0 -- so cold that the school buses didn't run for 4 straight days

Glad to see you back :)

    1. Thank you Morningstar. I know it is hard when a friend disappears into thin air in the land. Great idea for your post if you take a break.
Will gladly send you some of our hot weather. Well usually where I live its mild compared to the rest of Australia. Last week though, oh my it was a scorcher. My poor kids have been suffering with around 40s everyday where they live. This is where we are grateful for our move to cooler climes.

Good if the colder weather is helping you to blog more.

  4. I know you're not talking about me because we see each other on FB. Maybe, like me, they just tired of the routine, or also like me had nothing to say. Things have changed lots and so many new names and not many of the old ones - it's fluid
Speaking of fluid, try to stay cool. Im not looking forward to summer if that is what we can expect this year.

  5. Hi Lindy,
I have missed you lots. I kind of disappeared for a while myself and finally feel I have the time to visit you all and write a post once in a while. TTWD doesn't stop, but life intrudes in good ways and bad.

I am already dreaming of summer. That usually means I start wearing my sandals around the house in anticipation!

Give your dear Bear a hug, too!

I can just imagine you wearing your sandals in winter. LOL! Will send you some of our 40c+ to enjoy to warm you up.

  6. Hi Lindy, Still hanging in there...just! Yes, when it is hot (46.6C, 115.8F last Thursday) spanking is the last thing on our minds. Happy Oz Day to you and the Bear

    1. Thank you Don. Happy Australia Day to you both. Its been stinking hot this year, even for our little town. The sea breeze isn't cutting it.
Hopefully it cools down slightly for you soon. Maybe we need to visit our friends OS in their cooler climes.

  7. Hello Lindy. I haven’t posted since before Christmas either. Ttwd is still alive in the Joneses’ residence but there’s nothing interesting enough to blog about.
You know how much I hate snow, could we swap a bit of weather? You’re sweltering in the heat and we have more of the nasty white stuff on the way this week.
I’ve enjoyed your toy theme train on Fb, such fun.

I'm really enjoying doing the toys on tour. Hopefully next month will be another fun theme.

  8. Hi, Miss Lindy Lou,
I'm so happy to see you post. I always love hearing what you and the Bear are up to. I guess I would say that my absence is due to sheer busyness and holidays and illness. Oh, and lack of muse. Glad you're back.

See you are back posting too. Yay!

  9. It is sad to see folks leave without a good bye, Lindy, however I understand ... as a 'vanilla world' blogger, who did exactly that, sometimes life circumstances get in the way as do the feelings that you no longer have anything to to add to the conversatio ... and once you've left it is even harder to get back into the swing of posting. However that's not to say not old bloggers will nver come back ... if their blogs are still there there is hope :)). Plus maybe they are still listening and lurking :)) My old blog is still up ... I might get back to it one day :))

I also struggle here sometimes with my ttwd blog, trying to come up with posts that are interesting ... hence the regularity of my ttwd posts have declined as well. However, it is still a great community to belong to ... no matter the frequency of posting or the subject matter ... nj

    1. Very wise words NJ. I must admit I had a vanilla blog years ago which I disappeared from without a word. I'd love to go back to it now but forgotten my password. LOL!
Hopefully old bloggers are lurking and pop in every now and again to say Hi.
I too am struggling posting as at the moment we aren't really practicing TTWD. Hopefully it will find its way back to us again soon. I don't like to bore people with my day to day stuff.
I do love reading your posts. Very interesting.

  10. Well I have been AWOL long enough but it seems like there are a lot of people missing. I hope that everyone is okay. My life was just a bit more overwhelming then I could handle but I am going to try harder. I really miss my friends. Nice to hear from you.Hope you get some kind of action soon. Lol

  11. Hi, Lindy, so good to see you again. :) I've been around, but was gone for so long before then, it feels funny to be back in some ways. :) But I do notice my blogroll has less and less postings going on. I know life does happen, and we can't always keep up. I had two years where I barely posted, and am so glad to be back at it again, and I can only hope that others come back if they're ready as well. :)

  12. Nice to see you Lindy. I am no longer writing posts. It just isn't something I am interesting in doing anymore. I started blogging in 2012- there is only so much one can write about. LOL. Our dynamic has changed so much- not too many that may be able to relate I suppose. Thing is I used to write to process things and our adventure. I don't need to do that anymore- hence nothing to write about. I still read now and again though.

Hope 2019 finds your health improving greatly ( enjoy the heat- because I woke up this morning to -33 C with the windchill and 20 cm on the horizon. LOL)

    1. Oh my goodness Willie -33c, I CANNOT even imagine how cold that must feel. Our heat in my part has taken a holiday thank goodness. Where my kids live its still way over 30c+. Another reason why we like our current area.
Yeah I guess we all run out of things to write about after a while. That is still sad though that you are no longer posting. Good thing you pop in every now and again to read. You're always welcome here.
Hope you find some warmth before too long.
      Hugs Lindy. xx

  13. Hi Lindy, :) I am one of those bloggers that has been on again, off again. Life gets in the way. I am trying to keep up with it all in 2019, and was doing pretty well. Travel got me off kilter again... Here's hoping...!

You know, it always makes me happy to see people pop up when they have been away for a time. I think that most people feel that way. It's a given that everyone does what they can, I am guessing. I do miss some of the regular bloggers of the past. I hope that all is well with them. Nice to see you here!❤️ Many hugs,

    ❤️Katie xoxo

  14. Life ebbs and flows. I have had many acquaintances vanish over the years and it does alway make me wonder. I imagine for most it was a combination of finding the time to write and not being sure what to write. But many of my friends out here are still my friends even once there blogs are long gone. I suppose we'll all wander away at some point, even me.

    1. Very true PK maybe we all run out of material to write about. Sometimes its hard to stay on point. I'm hoping I've made life long friends through here even if others are not posting.

  15. Lindy, good to see you. I hate it when a blogger just disappears, it always worries me, but life happens and you have to priorities and sometimes blogging just has to go on a back burner.
I wish we had some of your heat.
