I have a few goals to try to accomplish and really, really need you all to keep me going. Over Christmas/New Year I let my hair down quite a bit. Sometimes I think I just have to smell food to put on weight.
Smell food! Up go the scales.
1. So my first goal is to tell my Bear NO MORE PLEASE! I know you love me, yet this is not the way to show me. One of the problems, in my eyes, Bear loves me no matter how I look, whether fat, skinny or in between. If I say to him I'm fat and need to lose weight, his reply is no your not with a swat or two. Yet for those who have seen him on face book he thinks he is chubby, go figure. Pffft! Once I've accomplished this I can wean myself off treats again and stick to what I know is better for my body.
Australian healthy eating chart.
I've been contemplating buying a fitbit or garmin, so if anyone can tell me about your experience if you own one please? It would need to be water proof so I can wear it in the pool for mermaids.
2. At present I have a three month gold membership at the YMCA, yet only go to mermaids twice a week. Thinking of increasing this to take some gentle exercise classes and maybe another day of aqua aerobics. See how my back holds out though, so its one day at a time.
I plan on taking small steps until after my procedure in a few weeks, once I have the results its full steam ahead if the outcome is good. So to sum it all up, I'm eating healthier and increasing my exercise a bit. Hopefully I will lose around 10 kilos over the eight months, more would be nice, we'll see what happens.
3. They say a healthy mind is a healthy body, so along with the things above, I'm (we) are decluttering our house. My goodness we still have things packed in boxes from when we made the big move. How ridiculous, obviously we don't need these things. So we are either sending them to the op shop or the tip if no good for anyone.
Breath in calm your body.......Breath out smile and relax.
Good luck to everyone else whose participating, its going to be so much fun encouraging each other.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Hugs Lindy xx
Hooray for FFF! I thought I missed the first week, glad to know I hadn't/
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the Fitbit or the Garmin, though I'd love a device like that. People I know swear by both; it depends on who you talk to. If the features you want are included in both, I'd go by price.
Thanks Lea, might have to check out the price and features on both, then decide. Look forward to seeing your check in.

I have used a Fitbit and love it...also love your goals, a daughter's wedding is a major incentive . And, I joined the Y 3 weeks ago intending to go to the water exercise and water walking..have not been once yet...so you can guess at one of my goals..
ReplyDeleteWe can do this....HUGS...abby
Abby water exercise is so much fun, you should definitely go. I'll encourage you along the way. Pity you don't live down here, we could go together.

Good goals, Miss Lindy,
ReplyDelete--Baker
Thank you Baker, just need to push me when I slack off. LOL!
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
I'm with Baker -- excellent goals.....
ReplyDeleteAs for your question about Fitbit/Garmin -- I have a fitbit have had one for 3 years now... I credit all my weight loss to it and a marvelous app for me phone called My Fitness Pal -- it records exercise and food and keeps track of your calories......
Good luck with your goals and your 'procedure' :)
Thank you for the advice on your fitbit. Its a hard decision so want to get it right seeing they aren't exactly cheap.

These are great goals! I love the healthy eating chart you posted and the declutter goal is a fabulous idea. Make yourself and the house a little lighter! Congrats on the upcoming wedding. Good motivator. I'm so excited to be doing this with you. YAY!!
ReplyDeleteAmy
Thanks Amy, I'm excited to be doing this with you also. We can keep each other motivated.

Oh, I forgot, I got a Fitbit Alta HR for Christmas. I love it. Tracks my steps, heart rate and sleep patterns. I enter my weight and it tells me how that's going - steadily UP since the holidays. It's fun. :)
ReplyDeleteCool information about your fitbit Amy, thanks. Is it waterproof?

Hi Lindy,
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I love that you have included meditation and decluttering as well.
I have the same sweet tooth problem. I once jokingly asked my dentist to extract it lol.
Congratulations on the upcoming wedding, certainly a good motivator. Good luck, I'm rooting for you!
Hugs
Roz
Thank you Roz. Oh that's a good idea to talk to my dentist to extract my sweet tooth. LOL!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing your goals.

Hi Lindy, well done on making the first week. The wedding is a great motivator. No idea on the fitbit, or exercise either to be honest. Just plod on, take each day as it comes.
ReplyDeletelove Jan, xx
Thanks Jan, I intend to take baby steps at first. Then get into the swing of things in a few weeks.
DeleteHave a good weekend.

Oh a wedding is great motivation! A kg a mth is a VERY good plan. And so is decluttering and meditating! Looks like you've given this quite a bit of thot! U have also inspired me to cut BIKSS off from my baking and treat supply. I am horrid, trying to encourage him to eat better and yet i bring him treats from my kitchen so often! Ive just told him im not gvg him any more. He said Awww and made a sad face and i said im sorry. But im not sure if im sorry for ruining his diet or cutting him off now... LOL
ReplyDeleteTell Bear to start getting inventive with salads. If you have a gluten thing and that has gotten him to look at alternative recipes im pretty sure he'll be glad to look into other foods and dishes that will match your new diet plan!
Thanks Fondles, that's a wonderful idea to tell Bear to look for interesting salads. Good luck with not baking for BIKSS.

Thank you Ronnie, it sure is a good motivation.

Lindy, I think you have a solid plan here. I am the one who loves to bake, but neither Sam or I need to be eating sweets. I think I have some new recipients in mind for my baking goodies. Maybe that will help.
ReplyDeleteHope Bear will help you support your goals. I couldn't do it without my coach.
Sending Hugs Down Under,
Ella
Thanks Ella. Sounds a good plan to give your baking to others. I will have to get Bear on board like your Sam (maybe).

Way to go, Lindy! Felicitations to your daughter. I’m hoping mine will tie the knot too, she and her chap have been together 11years. Her parents took that long, so we can’t say too much!
ReplyDeleteRosie xx
Must be a family tradition then with your daughter Rosie. Hope it eventuates for you. Mine just got cold feet. LOL! Yet still live together.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Congrats to your daughter! Good for you on the healthy living! I’ve not been doing my healthy lifestyle so well lately! I need back on track!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should join Fondles challenge also Minelle. Great way to get us all involved in a healthy life style.

I'm sure you will reach your weight goal by October - nothing like having that carrot out there dangling.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true Sunny, something to keep me motivated.
DeleteHugs Lindy xx
Good luck with your goals Lindy!
DeleteMy am I jealous that your man can bake gluten free! That's impressive!
Although, I would have a hard time saying no to it as well.
Hugs,
Jlynne
Thank you Jlynne. Bear has always loved baking and has been wonderful adapting recipes to suit my eating requirements.

Hi, Lindy,
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to lose weight when your man offers you tasty treats! Especially with the time and effort yours is putting into it. You have some great goals though. And a great group of people to support you - and each other. I'm glad to be part of it!
Thank you for dropping by Olivia. It is so wonderful to be doing this with you and all the others. The support from everyone is helping heaps.
DeleteGood luck!
Hugs Lindy xx
Lindy,
ReplyDeleteI show my love by feeding my pack too, so I get Bear here, and switching from baking to making healthy dinners/salads/snacks took me some mental leaps and practice.
So great of you to focus on feeling healthy and feeling good, you'll get to where you want to be. Cheering you on, Lindy.
Thank you Bleue. That's wonderful you switched to healthier options for your pack. I appreciate you cheering me on.

My mother always worried about her weight. When I got married, that's what I heard from her a lot: her concern to fit into her mother-of-the-bride dress. I love and tressure the pictures I have of her and I think she looked beautiful then and radiant now. I wish she had expressed her feelings about what she thought about the wedding and her hopes for us in equal meassure to how much she worried over how she looked to us. Good luck with your goals.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting. I appreciate your advice about changing my focus. I know its my daughters day, its all about her and her future happiness. I just thought I would use that as one of my incentives.
DeleteHope to hear from you again.
Hugs Lindy xx
good luck with all your goals...I wish you all the success you hope for. :-) hugs
